January Bible Study 2012

The Pursuit: Chasing Answers to Life’s Questions, Leader Guide is a January Bible Study for 2012 based on the Book of Ecclesiastes that will raise the most challenging questions that we face in life in a very realistic way; remind us what life is really like when we choose the pattern of this world rather than what God has to give; help us develop an everyday theology, showing us how to shape a Christian worldview in light of the challenges of secularism; serve as a guide for us as we seek to learn how to engage culture in an effective way; and enable us to see afresh our need for the gospel of Jesus Christ. (7 sessions)

The question for readers of Ecclesiastes is: “Can meaning in life come from outside of a God-centered universe?” Ecclesiastes may well be the most contemporary book in the Bible, speaking to the very people who are most likely to build their lives on success, wealth, power, and intellectual reputation. Repeatedly, the book points out the futility of such a way of life, urging instead that readers face their need for God.

Life in the Spirit - Member Book is a practical, Scripture-based Bible study course on the Holy Spirit and encourages Christians to better grasp the power and companionship available to every believer through His presence. In simple, forthright sections, Robertson McQuilkin presents his compelling thesis: to live daily in such close connection with the Father is to live more passionately and with a greater sense of purpose. Involves both personal and group study.

Read The Bible For Life

The Read the Bible for Life initiative, aims to improve biblical literacy in the church by encouraging readers to grow in joy and skill in reading the Bible.  The initiative seeks to foster:

  • an understanding of how to read the parts of Scripture well,
  • a perspective on the Bible as a grand story God has written on the world,
  • a grasp of the themes of Scripture that thread their way powerfully and beautifully from the beginning to the end of this book of books, and
  • sound application of the Scripture to modern-day life.
