TXR,Texas Relief

Texas Relief is a ministry of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention that connects individuals and church groups to ministry opportunities in areas of need across Texas.

With the devastation of Hurricane Harvey there are a host of current needs across the state:

  • Providing Help: Individuals and groups wanting to serve.
  • Needing Help: Churches and ministries able to host and facilitate volunteers.

There are various levels for an individual or group to serve:

  • Texas Relief Volunteers (TXR)
    • Requirements: fill out online form, age 18+.
    • Prerequisites: watch short training videos that will be sent to you or receive short briefing at the ministry location.
  • Certified Texas Relief Volunteers
    • Requirements: must be a member, in good standing, at a Southern Baptist church, background check, age 18+.
    • Prerequisites: watch short training videos that will be sent to you or receive short briefing at the ministry location.
    • Those that are certified TXR only need a few hours of additional training to become fully Disaster Relief (DR) credentialed.

Note:  If you have minors in your group, please connect with the North American Mission Board (NAMB) SEND Relief ministry. They have groups working in Texas now.

We already have requests for volunteers to work alongside SEND Relief volunteer efforts or deployed DR units and will have a brief period of training once they arrive on-site.

If you are an individual volunteer willing to go or a church leader coordinating volunteers from your congregation, please fill out the form below and we will get back with you with further instructions. If you have questions or need additional information, email Texas Relief.
