Texas Missions Initiatives provides multiple trainings each year for churches who would like to reach out to foreign born people groups in Texas.
People Group Discovery and Engagement Workshop
A one or two day workshop which provides an introduction to Texas’s changing cultural demographics and an overview of the people groups represented. Includes an initial introduction and a practical field trip to practice encountering and engaging with people from other cultures. For more information, click here.
A six session training based on Jesus’ principles for cross-cultural ministry that guides believers to connect, evangelize and disciple the foreign born people in Texas. A one day seminar for people group missionaries, ethnic church planters and other workers among people groups: Going Beyond Seminar 1 and Going Beyond Seminar 2. These seminars are the basis to establish a Going Beyond Network where churches, pastors and leaders learn from one another and encourage one another in reaching the nations in their locale. Various workshops, seminars, and consultations to better equip those that are or are considering ministering to foreign born people groups from different religious backgrounds. EQUIP: The SBTC will host an ESL training on August 10-11, 2018 during the EQUIP conference. This 2-day training will cover how to develop an ESL program for your church, student placement, lesson building, teaching techniques, evangelism and more. A certificate is awarded to participants who complete the entire training. Training will take place Friday, 8:30am-4pm and Saturday, 8:30am-3pm.
