CROSSOVER ARLINGTON: Team Impact is Back!

by Norm Miller

Hoping for a repeat of the success that God brought through Team Impact at the SBTC’s Crossover Amarillo two years ago, Jack Harris looks forward to another spiritual harvest at Crossover Arlington, Nov. 9 and 10, that precedes the annual state
convention meeting.

The two Team Impact events at Lamar Baptist Church in Arlington will be on successive nights at 7 p.m., said Harris, the SBTC’s senior associate for Personal/Event Evangelism.

“Team Impact usually attracts more children and teens than adults,” Harris said. “But I want to encourage parents to not merely send their children, but to bring them.

Team Impact’s program holds something for every age.” “We’re also asking for church members to bring their lost friends,” he said. “So, we need trained spiritual counselors for both nights.

“And we especially want church leaders to be ready to come forward with those from their groups who may respond at the invitation time,” added Harris, who noted that the event was for the benefit of all churches.

“We’re especially grateful to the folks at Lamar Baptist Church for allowing us to use their facilities,” he said. Volunteers are needed for both Team Impact nights“to help set up and clean up,” he said. “They break a lot of stuff, you know.”

Sandwiched between the Team Impact nights is the usual Crossover activity of evangelistic surveying in which teams will gather briefly at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at several churches in Arlington listed below, and then disperse throughout the city, going door-to-door in various neighborhoods with the survey. Since Arlington is the host city for the Nov. 12-13 annual state convention, local Arlington SBTC churches were invited to participate.

“This opportunity is designed to give the lost people of Arlington a chance to hear the Gospel,” Harris said. “And, we hope to gather hundreds of new prospects for all our churches in the area.”

All volunteers, whether for the Team Impact nights or the evangelistic survey teams, should register as soon as possible, Harris said. Persons interested in helping with these efforts should email jdean@sbtexas.com. Or, volunteers may call, toll free, 877.953.7282 and ask for Jennifer Dean.
