New for Equip this year! We are offering a hybrid English as a Second Language (ESL) training that combines self-paced online learning with a live, in-person training session. Because this training is offered in a hybrid format, there will be no in-person ESL classes during Equip. We encourage you to take advantage of the many other ministry training opportunities available at Equip by registering for Equip at sbtexas.com/equip. Registration for and attendance at Equip are not required to participate in this ESL training. This class will cover topics such as:
- Developing an ESL ministry in your church
- Student placement
- Lesson planning
- Effective teaching techniques
- Evangelism through ESL ministry
- And more
Participants will complete the online lessons and assignments at their own pace between August 1–28, 2026. The training concludes with a required live, in-person session on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 8:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at The Church at the Cross. During this hands-on workshop, participants will develop practical English teaching skills and ministry techniques. Lunch and a printed training manual will be provided on August 29.
Participants who successfully complete all eight online lessons and attend the entire in-person session will receive NAMB ESL Certification. Certification cannot be awarded to participants who do not complete both the online and in-person portions of the training.
