Ahmaud Arbery and Image of God

The Southern Baptists of Texas Convention has over 200 affiliated predominately African-American churches. We are brothers and sisters in Christ and must present a united front as we stand together for the dignity of all lives. The recent tragic death of Ahmaud Arbery raises once again the need for all of us to affirm the Imago Dei of every individual. With the history of violence against people of color and specifically blacks, the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention calls upon the legal system to bring about swift justice in the taking of Mr. Arbery’s life.
